About

I grew up on a farm in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and started sewing when I was seven years old. Many 4-H dresses were designed and sewn, but never quilts. My mother sewed quilts from leftover clothes the six of us kids outgrew. She filled the quilts with wool sheared and carded from our only sheep, Sally. Each year Sally would produce enough wool to make two quilts. Because my mother hand tied her quilts, I am drawn to the authentic look of handmade quilts and use machine quilting techniques at a minimum.

Living in Northern California for the past 50 years, my designs are influenced by the birds in my garden, ocean views, and seedlings bursting through compost. I love working with colors and incorporating what I see in nature into my designs.

KellerKat Quilts are made primarily with 100% organic cotton and natural cotton batting. Quilts can be commissioned with one month lead time. I work with you to choose fabric colors and designs.
